Holiday Crafts: Paper Holiday Wreaths

It’s the holidays here at Outschool UK, and we are excited to share some easy seasonal crafts for you and your family to do together.  This craft is a lovely one to decorate your home this holiday season, a wreath made entirely of paper!

    Paper Holiday Wreaths

    Materials

    • 1 A4 sheet of card (any colour)
    • 1 A4 sheet of light green card
    • 1 A4 sheet of dark green card
    • 1 A4 sheet of red card
    • Glue stick or pva glue
    • Pegs (optional)
    • Scissors
    • A small side plate to use as a template for the wreath

    Instructions

    1. First take your plate and draw round the outer edge

    2. Next turn the plate over and draw around the inner edge. This can be quite tricky, and it doesn’t need to be perfect.  Check out this section of the video.

    3. Now cut out both the outer circle and the inner circle. Now you have your base for the wreath.

    4. Next take your dark green paper and fold it along the long edge and cut on the fold into inch width strips.

    5. Glue one end of the strips to the wreath base, fold them over and glue it to itself.

    6. Allow a few minutes for these to dry. While you wait, take the light green paper and repeat steps 4 and 5, but make the strips smaller, about half the size.

    7. Now repeat step 5, but place them in between the darker green ones.

    8. Allow them to dry a little as before. Then cut a 1cm wide strip of red card, and snip it into 1cm wide pieces. These will be our holly berries.

    9. Stick these little berries onto the bottom of the leaves, either light green or dark green.

    10. Allow it all to dry, and you’re done! A lovely little wreath. You can use blue tack or a drawing pin to put it on a door or wall. You could also glue a bit of string on the back to hang it if required.
