Genevieve Johnson, Instructional Designer
Leading Roblox Education, Genevieve is currently the Senior Instructional Designer for Roblox, the world's largest user-generated online gaming platform. By creating educational content and advising educators world-wide on how to use Roblox in STEAM based learning programs, more students will be empowered to pursue careers as entrepreneurs, engineers, and designers.
In the past, she has been Educational Content Manager for a nationwide tech education program that will reach more than 50,000 students yearly, ages 6–18. She helped launch a successful all-girls STEAM program, and her team develops educational content for over 60 technology-related courses, teaching a variety of subjects from coding to robotics and game design. Throughout her years as a game designer and an educator, she has found that sound game design and effective teaching strategies are remarkably similar.
Nikki Pito, Environmental Artist, Raven Software
Nikki Pito is an Environment Artist at Raven Software who has contributed to numerous Call of Duty titles including: Black Ops 4, Cold War, and Warzone. A lifelong traditional artist, and a gamer since her dad introduced her to Halo: Combat Evolved, Nikki pursued a career in the game industry where she could help bring worlds to life that players are excited to explore and spend time in. When she’s not working, she can be found hiking, practicing yoga, drawing, baking sweets, or exploring places both near and far with friends
Yin Liu, Backend Software Engineer
Yin is a senior software engineer at Playdots studio where she currently builds the backend systems for the studio's mobile games. Prior to working as a backend engineer, yin was a game developer for 7 years. She worked on a dozen titles at the education focused studio Tinybop and then on the hit casual mobile game Two Dots at Playdots. Yin was first introduced to game development during her masters program at New York University Tisch School of Arts. Besides software, yin makes drawings and she is an aspiring children's book illustrator.

Verta {she.her.hers} is all love with appropriate doses of rage. Verta is a founder, storyteller, yogi, mama warrior and anti-racism facilitator. She has designed, managed, and delivered learning experiences and programs for humans across many industries.
As a co-founder and the Chief Innovation Officer at the*gamerHERs. the*gameHERs is a women-led media company and community based app dedicated to amplifying and centering the voices of women and/or femme identifying persons across the spectra of gender identity and expression in the video game industry. Verta is also a founding team member at Civics Unplugged where she supports the growth and development of exceptional generation z leaders as they become the civic superheroes their communities need.
Verta began her 25 year career in education as a teacher in Prince George’s County Public Schools and then as a literacy specialist for the New York City Department of Education. after getting her master’s degree in politics and education at Columbia’s Teachers College, she became the founding principal of Bronx Arts and then served for several years as a leadership coach for principals and aspiring principals at New Leaders.
